In 1971, “President’s Day” is officially assigned to be celebrated every third Monday of February.

Like President’s Day, Utah has been a witness of its historical moments for decades now. Notable moments in Utah’s history include the discovery and arrival of Mormons to Salt Lake City in 1847. Not so long after that, Utah became part of the United States after the historic Mexican-American war in 1848. One year after, Deseret was founded by the Mormons. Then in 1850, Utah’s Territory is finally established by the U.S. Congress. These are the historical events that shaped Utah and started its glory.

With that, Utah has also shaped several historical homes that have been a witness to several historical events. These historical homes can be visited until now.

  • The Beehive House/Lion House

Built-in 1854, the 166-year-old house is recognized as one of Utah’s historical homes. This was built when Brigham Young was still serving as Utah’s territorial governor. It is named as such because the interior is designed with several beehive imageries. The Beehive House now serves as an events place that you and your family can visit every day from 9:30 am to 8:30 pm.

  • Fielding Garr Ranch

This is another historical home for a veteran from the War of 1812 named Fielding Garr who resided here. Garr had plenty of stops across the midwest and has joined Brigham Young’s company. His family, later on, joined him as leaders from Latter-Day Saints told him to set-up a ranch. Today, the area has become a state park that can be visited every day from 9 am to 5 pm.

  • McCune Mansion

This 119-year-old mansion costs $500,000 and is owned by Alfred and Elizabeth McCune. This historical home is an artwork itself for the interior features superb ceiling murals, mesmerizing decorative boarders that took two years to be crafted, Holland-made roof tiles, crafted mahogany from South America, and so much more. Tours can be scheduled two weeks prior to your visit.

  • Brigham Young Winter Home

Brigham Young is a religious leader, politician, and settle. His Winter Home in St. George is completed in 1871 and was occupied by Brigham Young until the day of his death in 1877. More Than The Look

|

(Factors to consider when choosing the type of flooring for each portion of your home)

One of the most important aspects of your new home's final touches is to decorate your home interior, particularly your flooring. In selecting the right flooring style for each part of your house, there are many factors you should consider. One aspect is the color that you want to fit with your home interior's overall style. But there are many more critical items, apart from the look, that you should first examine. Unsuitable materials can result in floor deterioration sooner than normal, or they can impact the building's livelihood. You should carefully consider these factors to avoid such problems when selecting flooring materials.

  • Maintenance

A significant factor to remember is the maintenance needed by your choice of flooring. Are you able to polish and seal stone tiles every few years or refinish your natural hardwood flooring at least once a decade? The tile requires regular cleaning and thorough scrubbing to remove the grout after a few months of daily use but it needs much less care than the carpet. Make sure you can adhere to the maintenance needed for the flooring you have selected.

  • Selection of Prices

Understand that different kinds of flooring will come with different price ranges. Hardwood flooring will, for instance, cost more than laminate floors. To see the flooring items will be within your budget before you make a decision, check your budget and the size of the room. Remember to note that even within one type of content, you can have large price variations. If it is not feasible to invest more than $ 1,000 in a wide room, then granite and marble are not viable choices.

  • Location

Where is the floor going to be installed? It is a significant consideration since the flooring installation location determines the function of that particular room and the activities that will be conducted within it. Does the flooring have a wet spot, or a semi-wet, dry, or high-traffic one? How is the selected flooring going to hold up in these places?

  • Overall Look

Most homeowners placed this subject at the top of their list, but many experts place it at the bottom, below the more practical problems listed here. The look of your flooring becomes less important as the years go by, as flooring manufacturers become more and more professional at reproducing the appearance of natural stone or wood in both laminate and durable flooring versions. But it's hard to recreate the warmth of solid hardwood or the solidity of stone.

You should also bear in mind that the flooring you choose with the above-mentioned variables will be well suited to your needs and the overall theme of your home and should also be within your budget. Not only should you be hooked on the look, but you should be keen on these distinct variables.

Brilliant Bedroom

|

(Best Flooring Types For Your Bedroom)

Every flooring in the bedroom is unique for the moment you wake up and the moment you get to relax after a tiring day, it's the first and last touches of your feet. The aura gives off also influences your whole bedroom's relaxing style, making sleep and rest easier for you. Whatever type of flooring you choose, it will certainly play a vital role in your daily life as you work, study, and live, in general. When you pick a floor for your home, it really depends on what kind of space you 're trying to achieve. This also depends on the room on which you want the board. The effect of bedroom flooring on a person is physical as well as psychological, making the choice of materials a particularly important decision in design.

  • Engineered Hardwood- Real hardwood is widely recognized by the real estate practitioners as one of the best flooring materials. It's not only beautiful and hard-wearing, it's also relatively moist and lasting. A big reason for using hardwood in your bedroom is that it's easy to install. The floor will continue to be stable for a longer time. Better still, it is environmentally friendly. The look will differ depending on the species of wood and the finish, but almost always the wood gives the room a sense of primitive beauty. It is unlikely that you would need to repair the hardwood floors unless you do so for aesthetic purposes.

  • Laminate Flooring- Laminate flooring consists of a variable layer of particle material glued together to form the core. Due to its low price and visual hardwood Laminate has become more popular over the years. Laminate could be the best option for a DIY floor installer since it is specifically built for easy installation. This is also a low-cost choice which also gives an attractive look. Typically well below $10 per square foot for overall prices, laminate flooring is only marginally more costly than vinyl.

  • Vinyl Flooring -  With overall costs usually well below $10 per square foot, laminate flooring is slightly more costly than vinyl flooring. A large range of looks are now available, with luxury vinyl pieces almost indistinguishable from wood, ceramic or stone. The downsides contribute to the fact that vinyl is synthetic and, therefore, non-gasic and can not be recycled. Vinyl's waterproof construction can be of interest to adjacent bedrooms with en suite bathrooms. The waterproof design makes it easy to clean the flooring.

  • Carpet- Carpet is the most popular choice for a flooring bedroom surface in many other western nations, mostly because it is comfortable in moist on the feet — an obvious benefit in a space where you're often barefooted. The carpet 's texture gives the space warmth and a sense of luxury while still shielding you from cold toes in winter. If you want to feel something warm on your naked feet every day, then the carpet will respond to your call for a warm feeling.

The floor of your bedroom is a special part of your place to rest. The flooring you'll be putting in there is one of the biggest investments you'll have for your home and you should be carefully picking the right one.

WHICH HUES SHOULD I USE?

|

(Things You Need To Know About Interior Painting)

Interior painting will always be the standard of a style you chose for your home. A fast finish of a good choice of hue sets the theme that your home gives off. But choosing the right types of paint and colors is more challenging than it seems. Although interior paints are available on any surface, there is no such thing as an all-surface paint. Bad paint can damage the surface, and sometimes it doesn’t stick well, so it’s important to know beforehand what goes where and when. But a truly professional indoor paint job is a totally different matter. Incorporate these tips into your next indoor painting project and make your work go faster and smoother, with a cleaner, more attractive appearance.

“Latex paints” now have an advanced formula to withstand dirt, dust, and daily wear and tear, so that these paints are no longer strictly reserved for low-traffic areas. These are as washable and durable as old oil-based paints, which means that you no longer have to think about latex paints for walls and oil-based enamels for woodwork, windows, and doors. On the other hand, the consistency of the gloss you purchased will influence both its appearance and its durability. High-gloss paints are the most durable because they contain more resin than either semi-gloss or flat paints. Resin is an ingredient that hardens as the paint dries. In the long run, the surface that contains more resin would have greater hardness.

Purchasing high-quality paints will also have a significant role to play in providing an outstanding finish. Rock-bottom cheap paints are manufacturer’s grade paints with fewer solids than higher quality paints. Solids are what helps to make a healthy color. Builder-grade paints such as Sherwin-Williams ProMar 400 Interior Latex and Valspar Professional Interior Latex Have a place in fast, low-cost, low-commitment painting work. But buy higher-quality paint for a color that will last.

When choosing which type of paint fits the area you have in mind, always remember that the function of the area itself should be considered. High-gloss paints are suitable for kitchens, bathrooms, utility rooms, walls, windows, and trim. Semi Gloss interior paints, with less resin and reduced surface shine, are somewhat less wear-resistant but still suitable for the majority of the woodwork. Finally, flat paints are the coatings of choice for most interior walls and ceilings, as they provide an appealing, low-gloss finish for surfaces.

The process doesn’t stop just by choosing which type of paint should be used. You’ve got to make sure that the particular paint lasts a long time. Although it is difficult to predict the future, you can get a clear idea of the consistency of the surface by measuring it with a strip of duct tape. Place a sheet of fresh duct tape on the surface in question, and then tear it away. If the paint flakes are larger than the microscopic size, you may need to scrape and then sand.

Choosing the best shades to use for your home will be less challenging if you know the basics of painting. It ‘s critical to choose the one who knows best to get your home design contractor. Utah Flooring offers a wide range of home design products and services including various types and hues of paintings. What are you waiting for?
